During April’s Craft Night at the Museum, we created a decorative wood piece project and personalized it with writing our own text on the blocks. This little craft would look great on a shelf, desk or even a great personalized gift.
Some wrote their names, special sayings, or other small notes on their wood pieces. Here are some ideas!
Good Morning (front side) – Good Night (back side)
So many possibilities!
I purchased the small wood cubes at a craft store. These worked great because they were already sanded and didn’t have to risk losing a finger using our saw! I did purchase a cubed stick, where I cut 5 inch long pieces out of it for the bottom of this project. This needed to be lightly touched up with sand paper.
Then, paint your wood pieces to a color scheme of your liking. Using a little amount of paint, brush lightly over the blocks to create a weathered look.
Using a sharpie, write your letters.
Using a hot glue gun, arrange your letters to your liking.
To make your project extra snazzy, add ribbon, flowers or beads!
