This is a very simple and fun sensory activity for your child! Homemade silly putty is very easy to make with only two ingredients that are sure to be in your kitchen. Sometimes half the fun is mixing, anticipating how the putty will come out and of course getting your hands just a bit dirty. But that okay, because one of the ingredients is soap!
Directions:
Simply dump a cup or two of corn starch into a bowl. Gradually add dish soap to the cornstarch and mix. Keep mixing until it forms the right consistency. If it’s too sticky, add corn starch. Add more soap if it’s too crumbly.
That’s why it’s nice to start with a small amount of corn starch and gradually add more, so you can get your silly putty just right! After mixing the ingredients with a spoon, I ended up having to knead it with my hands. The few times I have made the putty, it has been always just a bit crumbly. Not perfect, but certainly fun still!
