With this Saturday being St. Patrick's Day, what a great opportunity to dedicate today's blog post to wedding ideas inspired by the holiday! Traditionally, this holiday is a day for celebration and there are several different ways to embrace St. Patrick's Day into your wedding day festivities. The following are a few different ideas to boost your creativity:
Green and Metallics
The obvious color that comes to mind is - of course - green! However, you don't necessarily need to go for all green everything. Perhaps green can be an accent color alongside gold or silver metallics to a neutral color - such as white. In fact, you don't need to have bright green centerpieces, decorations, etc. Plant greenery (especially if you are incorporating more of a shamrock theme) is just as effective and will give some life to your decorations!
Lucky in Love
Luck is a theme that goes hand-in-hand with St. Patrick's Day as recognizable symbols of the holiday include things such as shamrocks and horseshoes. Many of my example decorations feature shamrocks as they provide that green accent color to the space, but I have also come across several ideas involving horseshoes - such as horseshoe invitations and utilizing horseshoes in the ceremony aisle decor.
Cheers to Love!
Celebrating your wedding day with a traditional corned beef and cabbage St. Patrick's Day meal is probably not on your list, but try representing the holiday in the dessert and drink area instead. For dessert, perhaps a chocolate stout cake would do the trick. And - since beer has association with this holiday - opt for a darker stout like Guinness that is highly recognizable on the holiday.
Everyone Gets a Pot of Gold
At the end of the night, send guests home with mini pots of (chocolate) gold coins! This is not only a fun nod to the holiday itself - but these little chocolate coins make a great late night snack. If a wedding favor is out of the budget but you like the idea, have a larger pot filled with these for guests to grab as they please. This could potentially be on a snack or dessert table to help tie the theme into these areas of your event.
