We just finished up drawing camp this week for age groups 6-7yr. old’s and 8-10yr. old’s. We had a blast! We used charcoal, colored pencils and oil & chalk pastels to create some fun projects! We learned a bit about 3D shapes, perspective and how to create some more realistic effects in our drawings.
One silly project that we created was found on Pinterest. I call this lesson, “teeth creatures.” With taking some time to figure out how to fold legal size paper just the right way, we then created a cute face on the folded paper. When you unfold the paper you may be surprised to find a scary creature!
Take a look at some examples to get inspired!
Here are the steps to fold your legal size paper.
First fold, about 5.5 inches from edge of legal size paper.
Fold that edge of paper again to look like a backwards "Z".
Repeat those steps to the other side.
This is how it should look folded apart.
Start drawing your creature with the paper folded and the creatures mouth on the crease of paper.
Can you visualize your cute creatures face? Try doing a light sketch to try and help you figure your drawing out.
Then, open your folded paper and connect the top of mouth with bottom. Dont forget to draw in some scary looking teeth!
