Tuesday, December 3rd is Giving Tuesday. We hope you will consider making a donation to the Museum of Visual Materials! Did you know tha the Museum is a non-profit organization and that we rely on monetary donations to replenish the toys in our spaces? This year, our goal is to raise $1000 to add some new pretend play toy items to the Museum! You can help by clicking here to donate.
Craft Night will take place on Wednesday, December 4th from 5:30pm to 7pm. Join us to make a Wood Christmas Tree. We will have a wood triangle to paint and will use a Q-tip to add circles to create Christmas lights! Check out Pinterest for lots more creative options, under “wood triangle tree”. We will hot glue a wood stump for a trunk. This is a self-guided class for you to work creatively at your own pace, catch up with friends or make new ones! Adults only. $5 per person. Wine available for purchase. Online registration is required.
Join us on Monday, December 9th for Story & Craft from 10:00am to 11:30am. We will start with some special children's stories and follow with a simple, Holiday-themed craft. No registration required. Supplies limited.
December's Homeschool Art Classes take place on Monday the 9th from 1pm-2:30pm and Wednesday the 10th from 1pm to 2:30pm. We will be painting a reindeer with acrylic paint with step by step instructions. Ages 5-17. $5 per project. Registration & payment in advance only. Click here to register for the December 9th class. Join us on Thursday, December 12th for our Holiday Party from 5:30pm to 7pm. Join us for some holiday fun at the Museum of Visual Materials. We will have craft stations, games and selfies with Santa! Bring your camera or cell phone and/or selfie stick for a picture with Santa! Volunteers will be able to take a photo with your whole family if needed. All ages welcome, but 2-10 year olds will enjoy best. Tickets are free, but quantities are limited due to our space to ensure that everyone who has a ticket is able to get through the activities and games. 1 ticket is needed per person. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our activities and education free or low cost.
Please note that the Museum will be CLOSED December 16th through the 20th for maintenance. We've got lots of cleaning and painting projects to do to take care of this wonderful, historic building to keep it in tip top shape for the kids and families who visit us!
We will be closed for Winter Break December 24th through January 1st, as we give our wonderful team of employees a well-deserved break to spend time with their loved ones.
