Remember making paper snowflakes back in the day? Well, turns out they are still fun to make! Using colorful origami paper, I cut out a few snowflakes and layered the paper to create a paper quilt.
First, find something like cardboard or a thick piece of paper for the base. Then, place four pieces of paper on the board and paste or tape it.
Start creating your snowflakes! Here is how I made my simple snowflakes. So many different way to cut out your snowflake, get creative with your cuts! Half the fun is seeing how and IF your snowflake turns out.
Start with a square origami piece of paper.
Fold your origami paper like a tall skinny book.
Fold paper upwards.
Take the bottom right corner and fold diagonally up.
Cut the largest side and the right side (side that doesn't have folds). You can cut little triangle shapes, ovals, squares, even hearts!
ta-da!
Create 4 more snowflakes to paste on to your paper base. Create one more snowflake to paste in the middle for a pop of color!
We created the paper quilt the other day for our Homeschool Art Class. We had a lot of fun and created really unique snowflakes! They were quick learners!
